Project: Mount Hood National Forest - Burned Area Emergency Response – Riverside Fire site

Client: Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District

Location: Clackamas County

Date: 2021 - Present

Site stabilization and weed management

The Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District, which serves more than 400,000 residents in Clackamas County, and Clackamas River Invasive Species Partners, contracted with Green Banks as part of their Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER). Tasked with quickly locating, documenting, and managing invasive plants classified as Early Detection Rapid Response (EDRR) species, Green Banks surveyed the site of the Mt Hood National Forest Riverside fire using a Trimble R1 GPS unit, which can achieve submeter accuracy. We then implemented manual, mechanical, and chemical weed control methods to avert EDRR species. Please contact us for more information about our work with EDRR species throughout Northwest Oregon, and our collaboration with water and soil conservation districts, the US Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and private landowners.
