Douglas Fir Forest Restoration

Green Banks assisted in a Douglas Fir forest restoration project which included site preparation, seeding, planting, and herbicide application on an approximate 40-acre area. The area was divided into several test plots, using a different restoration technique in each area. Green Banks also collected sword fern fronds to scatter for this project and provided as-built maps after completing restoration.

Native sword fern (Polystichum munitum) fronds were sown throughout the understory of the forest to spread spores.
