Background

Jonas is a Senior Scientist with 20 years of natural resource consulting experience. Mr. Moiel specializes in environmental mitigation, restoration ecology, and natural resource management. He has managed numerous environmental projects including wetland delineations, wetland mitigation banks, federal and state permitting, rare plant surveys, vegetation monitoring, water quality studies, ground water and soils studies, geographic information systems (GIS), fisheries surveys, and biological assessments. His strongest area of expertise is native plant ecology and restoration. Jonas has completed over 100 natural resource survey and design projects in Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. He is also a wetland and environmental impact mitigation specialist who manages several wetland mitigation banks in the state of Oregon.

Mr. Moiel earned a Master of Environmental Management Degree from Portland State University in 2006, where he wrote a manual for developing integrated management plans for noxious weeds. His manual was produced for The Wetlands Conservancy, a non-profit organization located in Tualatin, Oregon. His studies also focused in wetland ecology, environmental law, toxicology, botany, and stream ecology.
